Tonight it was pitch black outside, it was storming very badly. Amihan was hiding under her blankets on the bed, everytime there was a clap of thunder or a flash of lightning she'd squeal and jump. It'd be impossible for her to get to sleep tonight.
She found her cellphone and quickly got back under the covers. Her hand was shaking so badly that she could barely press the buttons.
It's July 4th. The middle of Summer, and there's a really horrible storm. It was just like this some years ago. Today was the anniversary of Amihan's independence, but she couldn't celebrate.
How could she love someone as much as she hated him? As much as she was afraid of him.... He had invaded her country and almost raped her, so why did she still respect him so much? Why did she find it so comforting to be around him?
She finally got the number in and called him.
Patiently, she waited for Kiku to answer his phone.

{name:Kiku "Japan" Honda#|#picture:2} ああ、涼しさのために, それは水の深さに匹敵します - この秋空。 [/color] Tucked inside of his room, Honda-san had curled up against his tea-table in his living area. Set before him was his chabako, a japanese style tea-set. To his left sat a tray of sweet candies made to be eaten with his preferred bitter tea leaves. Oolong had been his choice this summer, but so had iced tea which he had been importing from America-san heavily. It had been a very hot summer so far, and because of all his new foreign friends coming to visit he had barely any time for himself.
Suddenly, his egg timer chimed and pulled him from his wandering thoughts. He prepared his tea pot by putting his choice of leaves inside of it, carefully measuring how much bitterness he would like in his tea. This time, he chose a more light tea. To his right, he picked his chibi hot water heater and poured the scalding h20 into the container. He capped the tea pot and set his egg timer for 2 minutes exactly.
While he waited for his tea to be brewed, he carefully unwrapped a tea-candy from beside him. A sweet, melt-in-your mouth type of powder candy that was shaped like a star. He was just then going to watch a rerun of his favorite program, Fūun! Takeshi-jō when his telephone began to ring with a gentle, oriental tune.
Lifting himself up, he dusted his lap off and straightened his house yukata and shuffled quietly down his normally soundless hallway to the telephone, located in his kitchen.
Picking up the cute, Hello-Kitty patterned phone that China had given to him for his last birthday, he adjusted his voice with a polite cough into his fist.
"Moshi-Moshi. This is the Honda residence...."
He spoke quietly, but with a commanding tone to his voice. His face was blank of a smile, not knowing of whom he was speaking to yet.
Ah, for coolness, it rivals the water's depth - this autumn sky.

"K-Kiku-kun..."
The girl on the other end of the line was obviously crying, the shakey voice was what really gave it away.
"I-is this a bad time...?" She asked, commenting on the way he had answered the phone. "I-I really need you to come over please!"
Just had she finished she squealed and jumped as more thunder clapped. "Aieee!!" She wrapped herself in the blankets more and cried a little harder. Amihan really wanted Kiku to come over because he was really the only one she had ever told anything. He was also the only one that knew of her deathly fear of thunderstorms.

His face changed to that of a more surprised expression, then to that of a grave worry. It sounded like bomb's going off in the background, and his heart began to race. He didn't want to have to mobilize his army so soon after their last war. Many of his people lacked the morale to begin again. Foreign influence had certainly taken it's toll on his national pride...
He could tell immediately of whom was speaking, purely by the nervous jitter in her voice and the way it echoed over the phone line. It was no mistaking that this was Philippines.
"Ami-san, I will be there as soon as possible."
Honda said with a serious, worried tone of voice. He hung up his phone with a click and rushed off to his room, where he quickly dressed in his uniform and returned to the phone. After calling several of his superiors and booking an emergency flight, he decided to do a scout after hearing no reports of war in the area. It might be a personal problem after all...
It was a long, quiet flight with little turbulence. That was until he landed in the airport, where a thunderstorm was raging around them. The landing was shaky, and during the slight discomfort from the rocking cabin, he suddenly had an epiphany.
It was not war he heard, but thunder. He immediately let out a hopeless sigh and rubbed his forehead. He really couldn't have come all this way just because of a silly storm... surely she wasn't that childish...
Either way, he had been making trips all summer to visit his other friends. He had not scheduled one to Philippines, so perhaps this was just a clever trick of hers to get him to spend time with her.
It was another few hours until he reached her home, where he exited a particularly rickety cab and dusted his white uniform off of any stray dust specs. He was a bit shaken from the bumpy ride, but with thunder booming over head, he knew he had more than bad driving to be afraid of.
Walking up to Amihan's porch, he politely rang the doorbell only once and waited with his luggage, in a convenient brief case clutched between his hands, swinging gently near his knees.
Ah, for coolness, it rivals the water's depth - this autumn sky.

She waited impaitently for the boy to arrive. Amihan knew that more than likely Japan would scold her for bringing him out for such a stupid reason but she couldn't help it.
After hearing the bell she quickly stumbled out of bed and ran to the door, almost falling down the stairs.
As soon as she opened the door she threw her arms around him and hugged him tight, crying hard. There was then more thunder and more screaming as she pulled him inside, slammed the door, and ran back up to her room, dragging him with her.
She locked the bedroom door and went back to hiding under her blankets, only she now had Kiku under the sheets with her. "Th-thank you for comming here on such quick notice..." She said sniffling and rubbing her eyes and hugging him tight, trying her hardest not to scream at every crash of thunder or flash of lightning.

The door opened and with some sort of whirlwind of blackness, he was sucked into the vacuum of the threshold. His feet tangled and stumbled as he was yanked by some unknown force upwards, downwards, left to right... he wasn't even sure what direction he was going anymore.
Surprised by silent, he had no time to even think before the cyclone ended and he was yanked to a soft surface, which he assumed was a bed. His brain twirling, he brought his hand to his head and attempted to steady his inner compass.
The room was dark, or perhaps that was the blanket on his head. Out of instinct, he lifted up the blanket to get a better look at the room. Pitch black, he could only assume there had been a power outage due to the typhoon.
His eyebrows wrinkling, he turned to the girl in front of him, which he could see cascaded in moonlight from her shuddering window.
"...Ami-san?"
Just as his voice came from him, thunder roared and lightning cracked soon after it. The girl thrust herself at him, tightly holding onto his somewhat damp uniform. He lifted his arms, feeling awkward and confused. He blushed, feeling this was a bit close for his comfort, but unlike Italy he did not have the heart to shove her away from him... not that he could, with her holding so tightly that it was starting to crush his ribcage.
Finally, he slowly, uncomfortably let his arms down. Patting the top of her head, his face returned to his normal monotone.
"Ah... A-Ami-san... it is not so bad. Would you like to hear the story of thunder and lightning?"
He tried to help. She was only a young girl after all, it would be perhaps good to tell her of why he was not afraid of thunder and lightning so she would not be afraid as well.
Ah, for coolness, it rivals the water's depth - this autumn sky.

She rubbed her eyes and looked up at Kiku, some sence of seriousness in her eyes now. "Shut up..it's all your fault that storms scare me so much...you know what you did..." She then again looked down and kept shaking as she had been the whole time. She didn't like to be reminded of the past events but she didn't like the boy not taking this day seriously.
Why had she ven bothered to call him over? Every time she saw him it just pissed her off. Well, that and almost made her heart explode. She hated being so confused. But there were two things that Amihan was absolutely positive of.
One, she absolutely hated Japan.
Two, she absolutely could not go on living without Japan by her side.

(Can we have it so he didn't almost rape her? It kinda seems out of character for him... he hates being touched)
Kiku's face turned solemn, as if deep in thought about something. He peered out the window blankly, watching as the rain pattered violently against the glass, slipping down the pane and washing away the dirt that once sat there.
He sighed, feeling somewhat in a tight spot as it would seem. He didn't want to be held, but she was holding him and he had no choice but to stay there and deal with it. It was not something he wanted to do on his day off, but such was life. He had learned in his few hundred years of life that everything was meant to happen for a reason, whether the gods wanted to tease him or not, it was better to make the best of what was going on instead of hiding away like he used to.
"I do not have response for you, Ami-san. However, I will say saru mo ki kara ochiru... even monkey's fall from tree's."
He was not perfect, as the saying went. Even he had made mistakes within his lifetime, and although he never regretted his decisions, sometimes sacrifice was not worth the outcome. He had made his peace with the Philippines long ago, but the long-lasting grudge of the after meal had lasted far into dessert. There was nothing he could do except apologize.
She was so young, and did not yet understand how this world worked. It was hard for countries in particularly to do well in this harsh world, full of it's wars and territory disputes. She had just been a causality of his proposed 'greater truth'. Unfortunately, it had not worked out the way he had hoped.
"The sun will always rise, Ami-san. It is your choice to open the curtains."
He said plainly, reflecting on his past hermit status.
Ah, for coolness, it rivals the water's depth - this autumn sky.

(that'd totally ruiun her story but since it's you i have to let it slide XP )
She rubbed tears away again and let go of him, holding onto the blankets instead. "You didn't have to come if you didn't want to" She mumbled into the pillow.
A few hours afterwords, Amihan ended up lying down with her head on the pillow next to Kiku's leg. As the storm faded away, she closed her eyes and calmed down immensely.
Barely awake, she looked up at him with half-open sleepy eyes and smiled a little. "Thank you for comming out...." She drifted to sleep with a tiny smile.

(Apologies for the late response! I was very busy this weekend.
Also we can have it so he just beat her up. He would definitely mercilessly tear her to shreds. There doesn't need to be anything sexual. )
Kiku watched as she mumbled something barely coherent. It was obvious the strain in her voice, possibly from exhaustion. With a worried expression, he watched as her voice became steadily more quiet until it faded entirely.
Her head with it's mound of black locks cascaded against the bed as she fell. Her eyes slowly closed, no longer able to withstand the strain any longer.
The moonlight broke through the heavy clouds and leaked through the window, pooling on the bed like a great silver puddle, illuminating the paleness of her skin. She seemed malnourished and ill-rested. He wasn't sure how long this storm had continued, but perhaps she had lost a lot of sleep over worrying about it.
Smiling slightly, he put a hand on her head to feel for a temperature. She didn't seem to have a big fever, but he was still concerned. Sighing, he lifted himself from the bed, fixing his uniform before pulling the blankets she had hidden them both under over her shoulders.
He retrieved his suitcase from the near by the bed and retired out of the room, leaving to get changed into his bed wear in the bathroom.
When he came back, he set up a modest bed out of blankets on the floor next to her resting area and drifted to sleep himself, to the sound of the pattering rain on her thin roof.
Ah, for coolness, it rivals the water's depth - this autumn sky.

(just for you XP
....I just read his Wikia...I need to fix Phillippines XD)
The next morning Amihan awoke in slight panic, thinking that Kiku comming over was just a dream she had. As she got up she saw him lying on the floor and let out a sigh of releaf. She didn't want to disturb the sleeping boy so she tip-toed out and shut the door quietly.
"It's almost noon..." She said as she saw the clock. Amihan stood and thought for a moment. "damn...oh well..." She made Kiku some tea and went back up to her room.
"Kiku-kun~" She said as she sat on her knees next to him and gently shook him. Amihan waited for him to wake up so she could give him the home-made tea.

(lol, okay... Do you know when Sasika will be back? I'm kinda worried! )
The morning light spilled through the window, drenching the room in bright sun beams. This seemed to have no affect on the air-lagged Honda-san, who lay motionless and completely dead to the world around him - or so it seemed.
He awoke slowly to the sound of a pleasant voice calling out to him. Consciousness steadily began to return to him, and his eyes in turn followed his waking mind. Easing open, he sleepily looked to see his side and upwards to see Ami-san sitting over him watchfully, in her hands a cup of what he could only assume was tea.
He could smell the fragrant odor of hot leaves unmistakably, and began to rise from his bed. Rubbing his forehead, his eyes drifted to a digital clock just across the room, where his eyes widened slightly at the late hour.
Kiku instantly appropriated himself into a bowing position, lowering his head to the floor as red enveloped his cheeks.
"Sumimasen! I should have woken up at an earlier hour. This is very rude of me!"
He suddenly seemed somewhat flustered, though he kept an even tone in his voice to remain formal.

"O-oh it's quite alright Kiku!" Amihan blushed a little and smiled. "Here, I hope it's right..I couldn't quite remember.." She handed him the small teacup and smiled warmly.
"If it isn't the right kind then tell me and i'll go make another one for you that is the right kind!" She said with a smile. "Is there anything that you need?" She asked kindly. She'd do anything to make the bigger nation happy. She knew he didn't really like phisical contact but she wouldn't mind getting a hug or a pat on the head from him.
"Are you hungry? Or do you need--" Kiku had cut her off half way through her sentence.
